Rising Stuff strives to offer you products from Japan at the lowest possible prices. New Japanese CDs are very expensive to begin with and after shipping and a small profit, they are even less affordable. That is why Rising Stuff sells mainly used CDs and games. But what can you expect when you receive your order? Please use this guide.
First of all, no matter what condition, (other than New) we test every CD before we ship it to you and all are guaranteed to play. Also unless clearly stated, all CDs will include their original front artwork and lyrics.
NEW Rising Stuff doesn't sell many new CD and games because the prices are quite high($40 for a new CD? Yikes!), however sometimes we get a shipment of new items in for various reasons (such as a CD shop going out of business). These like all CDs are guaranteed to play, but we do not test them, to preserve the original shrink-warp.
FORMER RENTAL These are our most inexpensive CDs. CD rental shops have used them previously. The may contain scratches on the disc (or may not), and usually have stickers for the rental shop somewhere on the CD, booklet, case or all three. Special care must be taken in removing these stickers (though leaving them on does not affect the playing of the CD). Usually the spine card is included, sometimes not. When it is included it is often attached to the case with clear tape. Sometimes this tape comes off easily; sometimes it can be almost impossible (it depends on the tape used). To be honest, most people leave the tape on as it keeps the obi (spine card) in place and looks reasonably good. If we bought the CD in a cracked case, we will replace it before shipping to you. These CDs are not always pretty, but we price them very low and they are a good deal for people who are interested in hearing the music and not as concerned about the aesthetics. Again, these CDs are tested twice by us, once when we receive them and once before we ship them to you. So they are guaranteed to play well. Here are some examples of superficial conditions on rental cds:

USED These CDs are previously owned but have never been used for rental purposes. Usually they are in better condition than rentals and some look brand new. The discs may have minor scratches or no scratches at all. Most of the time they contain their original spine cards and inserts, but not always. These CDs are recommended for those who want the music and don't mind paying a bit more for the packaging as well.
Feel free to contact us at any time about the condition of an item. For example, if spine cards are very important to you, ask us if it contains one before ordering or with your order. We would also be happy to send you a photo of the actual CD and packaging you would be ordering. We want you to be as informed as possible about your purchases and happy with what you receive. If you have any questions at all, feel free to email us at any time.
