Figuring out Battle Heat for the PC-FX.
Hey folks. Wonder what’s up with this video? Well, It’s a recording of me playing Battle Heat.
If you’re familiar with this game, you probably don’t know how to play it regardless. I’m writing this in the hopes that I can rectify that. As you can see here, I beat this game and made it look relatively easy.
I was writing this guide originally as a “bounty”, not expecting that I’d have to post it here myself. Harrrr. Some of the writing is kinda goofy, kinda like myself.
I kinda wrote the guide as if expecting it to be put out in raw text or a GameFAQs article, so it probably won’t stylistically match with the rest of the stuff here. Yadda yadda yadda. Point is, I wrote this guide hoping it’ll educate some people on how to play this game - especially considering that there haven’t really been many serious attempts at a guide for this game before this point.
You can see some info that’s actually -helpful- with the more button. While a lot of the stuff is requested stuff from Sensei and Alex, I’ll just tell you right here that the most important things you need to know are to Defend and Jump Kick.

PC-FX Review: Battle Heat
Battle Heat was the first fighting game to come out on the PC-FX. Actually it was one of the three launch games if memory serves me correctly. It was created by Hudson Soft to show off the FMV game capabilities of the console and went gold in 1994.
This Week on the Storefront: Restocking and Games of First Love
This week Rising Stuff did most of it’s work behind the scenes. With more orders coming in than ever before, we needed to reorganize our stock rooms. We are in the process of putting everything in alphabetical order. When we were only dealing with an inventory of around 2000 items it was enough to sort them simply by console but now as we have pretty much doubled our inventory in the last few months we needed a better system.
Also this week we started getting the first shipments of what will be growing Playstation and 3DO sections. Look for these to be going up on the site soon.
And then there is our ongoing battle to keep PC-FX games in stock. We keep reordering them but often they are sold before our shipments even arrive. We were, however, able to restock 12 titles this week and every PC-FX game should be back in stock in the next two weeks. That is if people stop buying them the moment we list them. Along with the PC-FX restocks we were also able to get something our store hasn’t had before:
This game is called Zoku Hatukoi Monogatari-syugaku ryokou and it is a very adorable simulation game. A young boy and girl are in love and you nurture that relationship through several stages of life. The characters start out in elementary school and you follow their lives though middle school, high school and college. I’m a fan of the art style myself. What’s more, this copy that we acquired comes with the original VHS video released by NEC to promote this game. We will sell them both as a set when we get around to listing them.
PC-FX: Working through the Japanese
Never being released in America, there has always been a lot of unknowns with the PC-FX. One of the big ones is one oftened encountered with Japanese systems: a language barrier. Some games you won’t even notice you’re playing in Japanese while others present a challenge to all but very fluent speakers.
Sounds like a pretty risky proposition right? Well not anymore! We’ve compiled a list of games and their relative linguistic dificulty for you guys. Take a look and let us know what you think about it. We’ve ordered it in groups of Hard, Normal, and Easy. Check it out and let us know what you think!

PC-FX: Kishin Doji Zenki - Vajura Fight Review
After writing this review, I know how the first person who tried to convince the world that it was round felt. I assure you though, Zenki on the PC-FX is truly a first-rate game… and not just by PC-FX standards either. Zenki isn’t just a good game, it’s a truly great game. Zenki FX takes you by the ear, beats you up, and then feeds it back to you. Only it’s so good, that you won’t complain. The concept of Zenki is pretty interesting too. It is part action game, part fighting game, with a complex story to boot.
